The article was very informative. It contained a lot of useful and helpful information and tips. The information is technical and contains certain guidelines to keep in mind that can help improve the craft of designers. It was very detailed and descriptive and provided many examples of what to do and what not to do,

In the interview with Poster Artist Dustin Stanton, Stanton talks about his various experiences as a Poster artist. It was really interesting and insightful when Stanton describes the creative process especially when working in a team. I think it's great that everyone trusts each other to do their job and that every idea from everyone involved doesn't just get thrown away. The balance of art and commerce seems to be the hardest to achieve for artists

The design seems simple but there's quite alot going on at the same time. Alot of the things in the background such as the dolphin, rubber duck, and number 42 don't really make sense until you watch the movie. The characters are posing in a way that gives off their personality, especially the robot who doesn't seem to be amused. Two of the characters are kind of leaning on the robot as well, which sort of foreshadows how important the robot became to the characters later in the movie. They are all standing on what appears to be a chunk of rock with text that says "Don't Panic", which i thought was funny.

In this presentation, Director J.J. Abrams talks about the intrigue of mystery. Abrams explains that there is mystery in different aspects of something that draws people to them. Abrams not only talks about peoples love for mystery, but also there interpretation of those mysteries. I agree with Abrams that it is easier now to create effects with improved technology and software or just by being creative.

In the interview, Dave Perillo, aka Montygog talks about his start and influence as an artist. Much of my start and influence as an artist came from watching cartoons as well, so i can relate to that. I agree that art doesn't have to be serious. I agree that it's important to have your own style. I also agree that a million Garfields is too much. The interview was insightful.

Movie plot

My movie posters plot is about a guy named Eric who is sort of a scientist. He was experimenting and his dog ended up knocking down the equipment and drank the formula that was spilled. The dog grew gigantic and started running around town. Now it's up to Eric to fix things and prevent a messy situation from happening. The movie would be a comedy starring me as Eric and my dog Flop as my dog.

Tim Brown talks about how designers should focus less on the object, and more on design thinking in approach, and problem solving with the person in mind. He also introduces the idea of  integrative thinking, which is the ability to exploit opposing ideas and opposing constraints to create new solutions. I agree that design is and should be human centered, focused around the needs of the person. I like the idea and apporach of the learning by making, instead of thinking of what to build, build in order to think way of design. I agree that prototypes speed up the process of innovation along with active participation from the community.

How to Ruin a Great Design seems to highlight the theme that newer doesn’t necessarily mean better. I agree with the author, that a newer redesigned model of something can often at times be inferior to the original version. There needs to be care and caution when designing or redesigning something. Things need to be designed in a way that is logical and practical, otherwise errors or even life-threatening danger can occur, like in the case of a poorly designed traffic sign.

In Rethinking the Way we Sit Down, Niels Diffrient talks about how his love of planes lead him to learning the technical aspects of the plane. This eventually lead him to art and the aesthetics of the plane, to designing specific interiors such as chairs. I think many of us learn this way as well, where learning one thing leads to learning another thing. Niels talks about many approaches he takes in design, one of the aspects being to design something around the person. I agree that designs around the person is a great approach to designing anything. I agre that adjustments can be made in a variety of ways and factors for a products such as a chair, such as form, positioning of levers, shape of headrest and cushions, and the height.
